Quad Response, based in Bodmin Cornwall is a Quad/ATV Incident Support unit; I am part of the Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response Network (National Call Sign: DC55) and the already established National 4x4 Response Network. I am also the Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response First Aid Advisor.
I offer support for our local community and the many thousands of holiday makers that visit the area throughout the year.
Quad Response is able to attend any incident such as in adverse weather conditions or floods quickly and safely, also in the event of an accident or medical emergency I am able to offer immediate critical support until the appropriate emergency services are on scene.
I can navigate the many walkways, bridal ways and tracks otherwise inaccessible to normal 4x4 emergency vehicles or in remote areas that would take critical time to walk to such as the Moors. I am looking at various options of Extraction so that we may be able to evacuate any injured parties if needed from locations such as the moors or the many miles of coastal roads. I am an experienced and equipped climber and as such have the ability to help those have may have fallen and injured themselves in the more hilly areas of Cornwall both safely and effectively.
Quad Response is here to help in the movement of Emergency Personnel and life saving supplies in the event of an incident as well as getting to remote or difficult to reach area's to offer assistance to those that need help.
I am an experienced ATV rider both on and off road in all weather including Snow and heavy wind and rain. I am happy to work with the Police, local Search and Rescue teams, the NHS Ambulance Service as well as other Emergency/Medical/First Aid services. I am trained to EMT level and am able to offer a high standard of competent medical care which includes certification in Emergency Life Support including Automatic External Defibrillators and the administration of Medical Gases such as Oxygen and Entonox and also airway management.
I am certified to BSC (British Safety Council) Level 2 Risk assessment. I am divisional officer operations within St John Ambulance (Bodmin) and work regular duties (700+ hours last year!) with St John which gains me valuable experience and continued updates to my training. I am a call away and will attend any incident for as long as I am needed.
An Enahanced CRB has also been completed along with Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Awareness Courses.
Quad Response is a voluntary operation and is funded solely by myself.
(Unfortunately Quad Response receives no external funding or support what so ever!).
My aim is to help those that need it, regardless of weather or location. Safety of those around us is Paramount. I respect the environment too. We have a fully equipped 4x4 ATV that further enhances what I am trying to achieve. Quad-Response's primary role is Incident/Emergency Support and logistics.
The Quad Response Can-Am Outlander 650 Max is a Road Legal 2 seater (registered as PLG), and will go where no normal motor vehicle and some 4x4's can and as such offer a unique advantage to those that need help or assistance. Both On & Off Road in all weather conditions.
Quad Response is also a Member of the Association of First Aiders.
Quad Response recently helped those that were experiencing difficulty during the adverse weather we experienced earlier this year where Quad Response proved to be very effective.
Please Note that all equipment used within Quad-Response is regularly inspected and replaced if defective to ensure the safety of both myself that those that are being assisted.
